PEA and Athletes

TheĀ Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) produced by Klamath Algae Products (d.b.a. E3Live) contains phenylethylamine (PEA). Similar to other food products like chocolates, this compound is not added and occurs naturally at low levels. This product typically ranges between 5 to 20 mg of PEA per gram of AFA. Phenylethylamine is listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list and can be found under section 6 for stimulants prohibited during competition.

At no point does Klamath Algae Products (d.b.a. E3Live) add PEA or any other compound found on the WADA list. Furthermore, AFA is not known to contain any other compounds found on the WADA list.
